Google, Apple, & Microsoft's 'War' in Asia




Continent of Asia has become 'battlefields' for technology companies in the smartphone industry. The importance of Asia is seen when Google with Samsung's flagship smartphone Galaxy reveal the Nexus in the region, precisely in Hong Kong.

Google itself has worked closely with various vendors from Asia, especially Samsung. Their goal is to rely overthrew Apple iPhone.

"The Asian market is very important. Particularly in some countries its smartphone market is growing and we are very interested in this opportunity," said Won-Pyo Hong, executive vice president for Samsung's Global Product Strategy.

Information from Reuters on Friday (21.10.2011), Asia Pacific will be the growth center feature phone and smartphone market in the next few years. While Europe and the United States is predicted to experience stagnation.

Vendors Asia now plays an important role in the world mobile industry such as LG, Samsung, HTC, Huawei or ZTE. In addition to Android, some vendors are also taking on other platforms such as Windows Phone from Microsoft, who also expect a lot of Asian markets.

"When prices began to fall, the growing market will be a great opportunity because it will be more people using smartphones," said Andrew Lees, president of Microsoft's Windows Phone Division.

On the other hand, Apple is eyeing China and surrounding areas as one of its main markets. CEO Tim Cook said China, Hong Kong and Taiwan will become the second largest revenue contributor for Apple after the United States.
