SEAGATE HDD 3 TB




SEAGATE has launched its first 3 TB hard drive to an external hard drive option, which is named BARRACUDA XT. Today, Seagate launches hard drives with a capacity equal to the internal hard drive inside the computer desktop, named BLACKARMOR NASA. Seagate also makes this hard drive compatible with windows XP.

Previously, Windows XP 32 Bit usually use the MBR (Master Boot Record) which is only limited to the size of 2.19 TB drive partition. This means the system can not read when a hard drive capacity exceeds that number, and can not know exactly how much capacity. In Addition, computer - system windows uses the BIOS on the motherboard, which can not boot if the hard drive capacity exceeding 2.19 TB, because of protocol restrictions BIOS. To that end, the solution can use the new Barracuda XT is according to Seagate.

Seagate claims that the built-in hard drive Disc Wizard software makes it easier for users to use the entire capacity of 3 TB hard drive, even when the disk is used as the main hard drive to be bootable. Once the OS is installed on the partition that windows can detect it, then the user can install Disc Wizard, which also makes the rest of the secondary partitions to be detected by Windows.

When used with EFI and Windows Vista 64 Bit version, the Barracuda XT 3 TB technology will server as a regular hard drive 3 TB. Barracuda XT Support 64 MB cache, use the Serial ATA interface cable 6 Gbps, and rotation speed of 7200 RPM. Hardware XT Barracuda hard drive is designed for high-level game play and a large super store, with a 5 year warranty.
